January 2022 — Motion and Emotion

Having lived the month of December—the month of self-focus, reflection and realisation—January started. January is the month of creation, creating new ideas and plans, like a window for new opportunities and adventures. It is the month of movement; I focus on motion to create a strong wave of positive and balanced emotion, setting the tone for how to move forward in the aspects of my life in which I want to grow, expand and thrive.

This concept of motion and emotion took me back to a vision I had of my future—a vision in which I was empowered by the values of freedom, authenticity and beauty in a pristine, natural setting. A setting that nurture inspiring ideas and embrace creativity in harmony with a new evolution to create a unique, unparalleled existence. It was like a wake-up call saying to me, “This is the time—the right time.” Last week, a trusted friend of mine also awakened something inside me by saying, “What if the right time is today—is now?”

I had a job interview once in which I was asked the usual question, “Where do you see yourself in five years?” My answer was unusual and surprising to him. I said I would like to be in a small wooden cottage beside a river, surrounded by tall pine trees, with a field of wildflowers and a kitten. This was not just an answer; it was my dream of where I wanted to spend my life. The interviewer also asked how I would live and what I would do. I told him how I would live a happy, challenging, and thrilling life with infinite resources. Resources that seem unrealised by many.

This month, I decided to start working on my vision with whatever resources I had. I am confident that a year from now, I will be able to share with you what I have done and how far I can go.

I also intend to continue practising the motion-and-emotion technique every day, inspired by Tony Robbins’ talks Emotion is Created by Motion and Tips on Changing the Way You Feel. This easy but powerful technique can change your emotions and state of mind in just a few minutes, allowing you to be more active, present and alive.
