“If you can’t fly, then run, if you can’t run, then walk, if you can’t walk, then crawl, but whatever you do, you have to keep moving forward” – Martin Luther King Jr
Ending one journey and starting a new one can be difficult. Especially when you are ending one which was not only rewarding and valuable but also joyful. Although one chapter is closing, I feel excited and enthusiastic about the upcoming opportunity to start a new journey which will be filled with growth.
Every year I look forward to the month of May, a cheerful time as it is my birthday month. This time of year is very dear to me as it embodies a time to celebrate with family and cherish every moment of the person I have become.
Reflecting on these past few week’s dynamics, I can notice a pattern of one-step forwards one-step backwards as I am attempting to conclude a chapter of my life prior to starting a new one. As someone who has the habit of planning ahead and preparing myself for what is waiting for me, I also felt held back where I was unable to start certain things that were ready for me to start. Nevertheless, I was determined to enjoy the process, as there had been a time where I had to wait for things to unfold by themselves prior to be able to act upon them.
As another month concludes, I can only look back and be proud of every single step and decision I took. Looking back to last year, to the accomplishments, difficulties, changes, and growth which I endured, I can only admire my pathway and progress as I look forwards to starting a new phase of my life.
